Dinsmore is seeking a Paralegal at our Denver, CO location who will support multiple attorneys in connection with Tort Litigation with an emphasis on construction defect.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality billable work and record time in accordance with client/firm policy
- Conduct case research and investigation
- Analyze and summarize medical and other related records
- Manage collection, organization and production of electronic documents
- Draft disclosures, discovery and subpoenas
- Work with expert consultants and witnesses
- Assist multiple attorneys through all phases of litigation
- Availability for limited travel to clients and other Dinsmore offices
- Serve as the main point of contact for all assigned cases
- Handle all tasks associated with document production and distribution for attorneys
- Serve as a liaison between law firms, experts and other parties
- Prepare document chronologies, charts, diagrams, expert witness reports and timelines
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing and preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks and binders
- Assist attorneys with client depositions
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience with general tort, construction defect, insurance defense, and commercial litigation
- College degree, ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or experience equivalent
- Perform high-quality billable work
- Expertise in assisting attorneys through all phases of litigation
- Possess the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse case load
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and confidentiality
- Possess strong technical and database skills
- Knowledge and experience with discovery and subpoenas
- Understanding of federal, state and local rules of civil procedure
- Electronic document management experience
- Willingness to learn and master new software
- Must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
