
Legal Administrative Assistant – Litigation

Under the leadership of the Manager of Legal Support Services, this position serves as the vital link between litigation attorneys, clients, and support staff. You’ll draft and file pleadings and other court documents, engage with clients, and maintain seamless collaboration across the office to ensure deadlines are met and confidentiality is upheld. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports multiple attorneys and paralegals in drafting, formatting, editing, and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, and other litigation materials.
- E-files pleadings and exhibits with State, Federal, and Appellate courts.
- Manages attorney calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Opens new matters, maintains files, and coordinates file closures.
- Coordinates billing processes, including time entry and client billing edits.
- Answers and screens calls, interacts professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Processes check requests and expense reports through Firm systems.
- Collaborates with internal support teams, including document production and business office staff.
- Utilizes Firm systems to manage deadlines, docketing, and other administrative workflows.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experienced in E-Filing procedures with State, Federal, and Appellate courts.
- Strong proofreading, grammar, and editing abilities.
- Able to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Exercises sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to adapt to change and solve problems using critical thinking.
- Willing to work overtime as needed and manage occasional high-volume workloads.
Education And Experience Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
- At least two (2) years of litigation legal experience required.
