Position Summary

The Paralegal 2 will collaborate with several attorneys and legal professionals on a variety of complex litigation matters, including antitrust and complex discovery issues. You will support a growing and dynamic litigation practice.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of professional concepts and standards, litigation strategies, and operating procedures. The role requires the ability to make decisions regarding one's own work approach and priorities, while effectively following direction.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and Paralegal certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal work experience at law firm and/or in-house organization, including substantial experience with complex litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting matters through all phases of litigation, such as pre-suit reviews, pleadings, motion practice, discovery, settlements, appeals, and root-cause analysis.
  • Extensive discovery experience including preservation, collection, production, and deposition procedures and coordination.
  • Effective interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Professional, and legal research tools.
  • Excellent research and writing abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to manage multiple or competing priorities within designated parameters, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with antitrust litigation matters.
  • Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid insurance.
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with PowerBI, NetDocuments and CounselLink.

Additional information

This role is an individual contributor with no managerial duties.

This role is fully remote, but if located in Chicago, Illinois or Louisville, KY this role will require hybrid support up to 3 days in office.

In this role you will be report to a Legal Advisor.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$71,100 - $97,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
