Develop and oversee compliance to federal & state written OSHA safety plans, site-level worksheets and other safety related programs. Oversee OSHA activity in Supply Chain divisions, providing subject matter expertise and guidance on regulations, requirements investigations, citations, disputes and compliance related questions. Monitor changes in federal OSHA and state regulations regarding occupational safety and health standards. Partner with corporate and third-party Legal on OSHA matters and in developing, implementing and communicating a Supply Chain strategy for all required OSHA plans and training. Provide oversight to produce safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) via enterprise reports for all. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Kroger Store Support Center Training on all training for injury prevention, leadership development and OSHA compliance
  • Lead internal safety audit team in ensuring regulatory compliance and preparedness is maintained across Supply Chain sites
  • Develop/oversee the on-boarding training program for new site safety managers
  • Provide guidance for the development and implementation of training for Safety Materials, Safety Awareness Events, and related services
  • Provide decisions and guidance on difficult OSHA interpretations or challenges where Legal counsel is not required or financially viable
  • Protect the company interest in conjunction with division by attending hearings, representing a division or enterprise business unit with written response to federal or state OSHA resulting from inspections, citations and fines
  • Provide development opportunities for AP/Safety managers on OSHA responses and informal conference protocols (OSHA inspections, citations, fines and hearings)
  • Validate compliance with Federal OSHA, DOT and other applicable state occupational safety and health standards are incorporated into Safety training requirements
  • Oversee and coordinate the integration of safety training, with Training records readily available upon request through the Learning system
  • Oversee internal measures and metric reports, including OSHA incident rates, lost time, etc. that apply to OSHA Compliance and Injury Prevention
  • Oversee with Technology the functionality of division dashboards
  • Oversee the completion of the annul BLS Injuries, Illnesses, and Fatalities (IIF) survey
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Travel to sites for training, hearings, inspections, and audits

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading and implementing a multi-state federal & state regulatory compliance programs (i.e., OSHA, DOT, NFPA)
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing Injury Prevention and/or Claims Management Programs
  • Any experience developing enterprise training programs that deliver content relevant to end user’s role and responsibility
  • Strong training, leadership development and meeting facilitation background
  • Completion of OSHA-30-hour course or willingness to complete
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years in a leadership position
  • Any experience establishing a proactive safety culture at all levels
  • Any data mining and analytics experience using statistical techniques to conduct forecasting and other modeling services
  • Proficient in creating documents with Microsoft suite and PowerBi
  • Knowledge of Kroger structure and programs
  • Knowledge of Safety System Processes such as Anhydrous Ammonia, Pressure Vessels, Combustion, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Risk/Safety, OSHA Compliance and Claims Management
