UBGreensfelder is seeking to hire an experienced trademark (domestic and international) IP paralegal to join our Intellectual Property team in the Chicago office. (5+ years + experience with international trademark paralegal and docketing experience required). This role is eligible for occasional hybrid work after the initial onboarding period.

_ Responsibilities Include

  • Assist attorneys in a variety of trademark matters, including domestic and international trademark prosecution, trademark searches, and trademark enforcement.
  • Preparation and filing of domestic and international/Madrid trademark applications and related documents with the USPTO and foreign trademark offices.
  • Management and execution of trademark renewals and maintenance filings.
  • Teaming with and contributing to the trademark docketing team members, including quality control, monitoring attorney docket for deadlines, and generating special docket reports.
  • Preparation of routine legal correspondence and assisting with trademark due diligence searches.
  • Familiarity with formal document requirements and processes (i.e. apostille, legalization, etc.)
  • Frequent client contact, both written and verbal.

Qualified Applicants Will Have

  • 5+ years of domestic and foreign trademark prosecution experience.
  • Strong knowledge in handling international trademark deadlines and working with foreign associates.
  • Knowledge of Pattsy or comparable docketing databases.
  • Official U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database experience and WIPO database experience.
  • Strong computing skills with the ability to quickly become proficient with new software tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are required. Experience with PDF programs (Kofax/Adobe) is desired.
  • Familiarity with handling and processing trademark specimens and trademark/trade dress graphics.
  • Familiarity and experience with copyright and patent prosecution is a plus.
