What You’ll Do
Are you energized by the fast pace of complex litigation and eager to play a key role in supporting trial teams from start to finish? As a Paralegal I - Litigation, you’ll be a vital member of our litigation practice, contributing at every stage—from pre-complaint to trial and appeal. You’ll manage critical document collections, ensure accuracy in filings and citations, and provide hands-on trial preparation and support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, collaboration, and precision in a dynamic legal environment.
- Document Management – Oversee collection and organization of case materials, maintain chain of custody, and manage logistics for electronic and hard copy productions.
- Legal Research & Analysis – Review and analyze documents, research procedural rules, and support case teams with fact development.
- Filing & Document Preparation – Draft routine filings, check legal citations for accuracy, compile exhibits, and coordinate with local counsel to ensure timely service and court filings.
- Trial Preparation & Support – Assemble and track trial exhibits, prepare pretrial materials, manage trial transcripts, and provide in-court support as needed.
- Team Collaboration – Partner closely with attorneys and staff to manage multiple cases and projects, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- Education – Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Experience – 3–5 years of litigation paralegal experience, including managing large-scale discovery and trial support.
- Must meet California Business & Professions Code
- 6450 paralegal qualifications.
- Technical Proficiency – Strong skills in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and document management systems; working knowledge of Relativity, TextMap, Westlaw, and electronic filing tools such as PACER Pro.
- Case Management Skills – Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases, manage large document sets, and oversee trial logistics.
- Analytical & Organizational Strengths – Proven ability to analyze information, maintain meticulous records, and manage competing priorities.
- Collaboration & Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in team settings and provide excellent client service.
- Flexibility – Willingness to travel and accommodate overtime when case demands require.

Compensation
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Los Angeles. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Los Angeles: $85,000 - $100,000
