About the Role We are seeking a business-oriented Senior Legal Counsel to support the growth of Gate US. This role will cover regulatory, commercial, and product-related legal matters, working closely with compliance, operations, and business teams. The ideal candidate is practical, solution-driven, and able to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Regulatory & Licensing

• Support U.S. licensing efforts and related regulatory frameworks)
• Work with external counsel on applications, filings, and regulator communications
• Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business guidance
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess the impact on new and existing products

2. Commercial & Product Legal

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g. partners, vendors)
• Support product launches and new business initiatives (trading, payments, digital assets)
• Provide clear, practical legal advice aligned with business strategy
• Identify risks and propose workable solutions

3. Compliance Collaboration

• Work closely with the compliance team to align legal and regulatory approaches
• Support internal policies, procedures, and regulatory responses
• Assist in managing regulatory inquiries and audits where needed

4. Risk Management & Governance

• Assess legal and operational risks across business activities, including outsourcing and data access
• Support internal control frameworks and audit readiness
• Provide guidance on dispute resolution, complaints, and escalation matters

Qualifications Required

• 5–10+ years of legal experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto
• Strong experience in regulatory and licensing matters
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (compliance, product, operations)
• Ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and practical way
