Under administrative direction, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to provide legal advice and counsel on matters that involve labor and employment law related issues in the Employment Law Group to support partners across the organization (the “assigned functional area(s)”). The focus includes conducting employment law related investigations, preparing the investigation summary and working to implement any related outcomes. Participates in and may lead large or multiple projects with significant scope and impact. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems. Results are evaluated at agreed upon milestones for effectives in achieving specified results. Extensive contact with internal customers, management and regulatory agencies is required to identify, research, analyze and resolve moderately complex legal issues.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides legal review and represents the organization in employment law-related matters.
- Conducts employment law-related investigations.
- Reviews legal issues and to ensure the organization’s interests are protected.
- Coordinates with outside counsel in activities associated with functional area(s) as required.
- Drafts documents and performs legal research associated with assigned functional area(s).
- Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to internal customers.
- Maintains currency in employment laws and regulations.
- Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge Of
- Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
Skill In
- Performing legal review.

Education/Previous Experience
- Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials and a minimum of three (3) year of progressively responsible experience in relevant practice area(s) (law firm and/or in-house in a related area involving financial services industry preferred).
- OR ~
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
- Licenses/Certifications
- Member in good standing in at least one state bar; and
- Ability to obtain Florida Authorized House Counsel, if not a member of the Florida bar.
