The University of Michigan School of Dentistry (UMSD) is seeking a Compliance Manager to help strengthen and advance a culture of integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement across our school. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building trusted partnerships, translating complex requirements into practical guidance, and creating systems that help people do their best work - ethically, safely, and confidently.
You'll work closely with leaders and colleagues across UMSD and the broader university (including Michigan Medicine and key compliance partners) to develop and run a comprehensive, best-practices compliance program that supports innovation while meeting regulatory and university standards.

Modes of Work

Additional Information
We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for everyone. As part of the onboarding process, all candidates are required to submit their immunization records to Occupational Health Services (OHS) prior to their appointment start date to verify their immunization status. The process includes completing a two-step TB test for all new hires and providing proof of Hepatitis B immunization for clinic-facing roles. Additional immunizations may be necessary based on public health guidance or specific job responsibilities.
Reporting & Collaboration
This position reports to the Senior Associate Dean and operates with a high degree of autonomy, partnering regularly with school leadership (including the Dean, department chairs, associate/assistant deans, CIO, and directors). The Compliance Manager may oversee and/or coordinate the work of committee members, interns, or project leads.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience; eligible for University benefits
Background Screening
The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks. Background checks are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
