Job Summary
This position is to be a member of the Property and Casualty Legal Group, who provide advice and counsel throughout the Farmers organization in the areas of product development, policy forms, underwriting, rating, regulatory, and general business advice. California experience strongly preferred but not required. We are open to a Corporate Counsel or Senior Corporate Counsel based on experience.
Essential Job Functions
Physical Actions
Required job duties are essentially sedentary; however, the incumbent must be able to speak, hear normal conversation and read normal newsprint; have the ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs.; climb normal stairs and step stools and reach to a height requiring complete extension of the torso, arms and legs.
Physical Environment
Required job duties are normally performed in a climate- controlled office environment with some exposure to uncontrolled outside environmental conditions and travel via automobile and/or commercial transportation.
Education Requirements
LLB or JD degree required and membership in the California Bar, and completion of review or seminar courses in corporate law and associated fields; as well as meet all MCLE rules and regulations.
Experience Requirements
Four years as an attorney in the field of corporate law and experience in related areas of responsibility.
Experience with regulatory matters and working with regulatory bodies preferred
Special Skill Requirement
Basic computer knowledge.
