Litigation Paralegal - Hybrid 70k-85k
Responsibilities
Litigation boutique law firm has an immediate opening for a litigation paralegal to work on a broad range of commercial litigation matters. The paralegal will support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including initiating suit; discovery (including eDiscovery); preparing court submissions; trial; and post-trial and appellate procedures .
- Oversee the production and maintenance of litigation documents and evidentiary materials, organizing documents and assisting counsel to prepare for depositions, hearings, trials or other courtroom proceedings.
Handle court filings in compliance with court rules and procedures.
Maintain the calendar for all deadlines under the applicable rules of procedure and local rules.
Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy files for assigned cases.
Maintain a docket for each pending matter before a court, arbitration panel or governmental agency, as requested by attorneys.
Assist with the preparation of court filings.
Qualifications
Civil litigation experience.
Knowledge of Federal and New York local court rules, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge and familiarity with e-filing on PACER and NYS e-filing system.
Experience with calendaring or docketing systems.
Possess a strong understanding of the e-Discovery process, including the ability to manipulate and run database software.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of document review software such as Relativity, Summation, Concordance or the like.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience required, and Paralegal certificate is preferred.
