The Practice Area Apprentice position offers a unique opportunity for individuals enrolled in a paralegal program at Southwestern Illinois College, providing a blend of paid on-the-job training alongside continued academic studies. As an apprentice, you will collaborate closely with lawyers and paralegals, engaging in diverse tasks such as fact investigation, legal document preparation, and coordination of activities pertinent to legal affairs. Your responsibilities will span conducting research to bolster legal proceedings, formulating defenses, or instigating legal actions across various domains of law, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape and fostering essential skills for a dynamic career in the field.

- Apprenticeship hours apply toward the required internship within SWIC’s Paralegal program.

Qualifications For The Apprenticeship
- Must be an active student enrolled in the Paralegal Program at Southwestern Illinois College.
- Must have successfully completed 1 to 2 semesters of the Paralegal Associate’s Degree Program.
- Must be able to commute to our (downtown) St. Louis office.
- Have excellent attention to detail and organization skills ability to interact professionally, willingness to take direction from peers and others, ability to learn new technology, and adaptability required to work in a fast-paced environment.
