- Position Type: Full-time, permanent
- Location: Fully onsite in Hackensack, NJ
- Compensation: $75,000-$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role
Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary:
- Deliver high-level administrative support to multiple attorneys
- Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda
- Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings and conference calls, and handle high-volume client communications with professionalism
- Maintain and organize client files while managing matter tracking systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility
- Process expense reports, check requests, and client documentation
- Manage incoming/outgoing mail, email, and document workflows
- Enter attorney time into billing systems and assist with timekeeping
- Support document management through scanning, filing, and retrieval systems
- Assist with dictation and additional administrative needs as required
Qualifications of the Legal Secretary:
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role
- Associate’s degree or its equivalent
- Strong typing skills (65+ WPM with high accuracy)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience with timekeeping systems
- Familiarity with document management systems
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
