Why this role? This is a strategic litigation role supporting one of the most innovative companies operating at the intersection of music, entertainment, technology, and creator media. You will advise on cutting-edge disputes involving copyright, licensing, AI-generated content, digital enforcement, and emerging media technologies while working closely with executive leadership and outside counsel.

The position offers significant exposure to complex, industry-shaping legal issues across entertainment and digital media, along with the opportunity to help build long-term litigation and risk management strategy within a fast-scaling global platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle litigation and pre-litigation matters involving music, entertainment, copyright, and commercial disputes
  • Advise on copyright infringement, ownership disputes, licensing conflicts, royalty matters, and digital enforcement issues
  • Support matters involving AI-generated content, platform enforcement, and emerging technology risks
  • Assist with pleadings, motion practice, discovery strategy, settlement negotiations, and dispute resolution
  • Provide strategic guidance on copyright, trademark, licensing, and digital media risk
  • Partner closely with outside counsel while maintaining oversight of litigation strategy and budgets
  • Conduct early case assessments and advise leadership on litigation risk and dispute resolution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, business affairs, publishing, finance, and creator partnership teams
  • Help develop internal guidelines, playbooks, and systems related to dispute prevention and rights management

About You

  • JD + active membership in both California and New York state bars
  • 5–8+ years of litigation experience focused on music, entertainment, copyright, or IP matters
  • Prior law firm experience handling complex disputes and direct client representation
  • Strong command of U.S. copyright law, trademark law, and entertainment industry practices
  • Experience advising record labels, publishers, digital platforms, or entertainment companies
  • Strong courtroom presence, motion practice, and negotiation skills
  • Practical, business-oriented approach to legal counseling
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
