Job Title: Attorney – Medical Malpractice & General Liability Location: Los Angeles (Mid-City/Hollywood Area) Work Model: Onsite

About the Role A highly respected boutique defense law firm with a 50-year reputation representing leading hospitals and healthcare organizations is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This is a hands-on opportunity where you will independently manage cases from inception through resolution while working closely with experienced senior partners. The practice focuses on:

  • 75% Medical Malpractice Defense
  • 25% General Liability Defense (including high-profile sports and entertainment venues)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload from intake through settlement, trial, or resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal correspondence
  • Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment (MSJs)
  • Conduct legal research and case strategy analysis
  • Review and analyze medical, employment, and related records
  • Take and defend depositions, interview witnesses, and attend court hearings
  • Communicate directly with clients including hospital administrators and physicians
  • Manage deadlines and billing requirements in a fast-paced litigation environment

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active State Bar of California license in good standing
  • 2–5 years of litigation experience preferred (up to 9 years considered for strong candidates)
  • Prior Insurance Defense experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with time billing required
  • Strong drafting, deposition, and case management skills
  • Must live within commuting distance to Los Angeles office
