Poshmark is seeking a Sr. Paralegal to join our Legal team as a key partner across litigation, regulatory compliance, and operational matters, with opportunity to expand scope over time. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will organize and support pre-litigation and litigation matters, respond to requests for information, and streamline our legal operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and excited to operate across a range of issues in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This role is based in Redwood City, CA, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities:
- Support pre-litigation and litigation matters, including legal holds, document collection and deadline tracking
- Lead and coordinate responses to law enforcement requests, including third-party subpoenas, search warrants, and liens
- Manage intake for the Legal team, including triaging the legal inbox, routing/escalating inquiries, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve open issues
- Maintain legal records and matter management tools to ensure database accuracy and generate operational reports
- Oversee vendor and outside counsel onboarding and fee arrangement tracking
- Maintain and update legal playbooks and SOPs to ensure consistent handling of recurring legal issues, leveraging AI and automation tools that improve efficiency
- Support regulatory compliance programs, including payments compliance and related initiatives
- Support responses to governmental or regulatory authorities; conduct research and prepare initial drafts as appropriate, and maintain a system for tracking deadlines
- Provide general support in other legal workstreams as needed, including subsidiary management, transactional matters, and other projects that align with Legal’s operational goals
6-Month Accomplishments:
- Fully owning legal inbox triage and the law enforcement request workflow, with documented playbooks for the most common request types
- Up to speed on the active litigation portfolio — running document collection, legal holds, and deadline tracking with minimal oversight
- Independently managing the pre-litigation dispute pipeline from intake to resolution in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Operating the matter management system as the day-to-day administrator, including matter intake, status updates, spend tracking, and recurring reporting
- Established strong, collaborative professional relationships with internal business partners who interface with Legal
- Identified workflow inefficiencies and proposed process improvements, using AI and automation where appropriate
12+ Month Accomplishments:
- Recognized internally as the go-to resource for law enforcement, litigation, and regulatory operational questions
- Operating with substantial autonomy across the litigation function — owning pre-litigation matters, supporting larger matters with minimal direction, and serving as the primary day-to-day liaison with external counsel as needed
- Delivered measurable improvements to one or more legal workflows
- Maintains a comprehensive playbook library, with capacity to take on additional scope, including transactional or corporate workstreams, as the company scales
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (paralegal certification is a plus)
- 4+ years of administrative and paralegal experience, at a law firm or in-house legal department (experience in a technology company, consumer e-commerce environment, or marketplace platform is a plus)
- Experience supporting litigation, law enforcement requests, and/or regulatory compliance matters
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment
- Comfort using or piloting AI-based tools to improve efficiency
- A collaborative team player, willing to take on a broad range of matters as part of a lean legal team
