The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Talented Legal Assistant (BI/UM) for our Overland Park, Kansas staff counsel law office.
As a dedicated Legal Assistant (BI/UM) you will provide assistance with legal work which is reviewed and approved by the supervising attorney. This includes but is not limited to legal research, document preparation, case management, discovery support, medical record and billing review, claims and insurance policy analysis, deposition and trial preparation, and coordination with attorneys, insurance carriers, adjusters, expert witnesses, and clients. The legal work performed is specific to insurance defense personal injury and automobile litigation and may vary based on the complexity of the claim, coverage issues, liability and damages assessments, and the stage of litigation.
Legal Assistants have a flexible work environment where most of your time will be spent at the staff counsel office and working from home. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $67,440 - $128,900 .

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
