  • JD, LLB, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience with litigation, regulatory or corporate investigations, including addressing, minimizing and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience navigating complex inquiries, investigations, and enforcement matters with U.S. and global authorities. Includes direct engagement with federal law enforcement (e.g., DOJ/CCIPS), regulatory agencies (e.g., FTC, State AGs), executive policymakers at the White House, and international equivalents (such as global DPAs and cross-border law enforcement).
  • Experience working with public company boards and their counsel, including special committees and audit committees.
  • Experience managing high-gravity, high-visibility content legal issues.
  • Experience in people management or leadership.
  • Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with related teams to assess and respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations, shareholder demands, high risk regulatory litigation, and overlapping civil litigation, involving how we moderate content on our platforms.
  • Defend content audits, assess the need for, and file, affirmative issues to laws pertaining to content issues that we believe to be legally defective or bad for users, and manage global coordination of content regulatory matters that span regions.
  • Lead a team of lawyers responsible for globally coordinating multi-jurisdictional matters relating to content moderation.
  • Partner closely with team leads in Privacy, Consumer Protection and User Safety, Global Legislative Oversight, Law Enforcement and Security, Competition, Investigations and Incidents, EMEA and APAC Investigations and Enforcement teams, Advisory and Engagement, and the Regulatory Response teams to drive efficient, and effective regulatory defense for the Company.
