As we continue to grow, we are seeking an outstanding Associate General Counsel to join our Legal team in beautiful Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Job Summary

As Associate General Counsel, you will provide strategic legal counsel to executive leadership by identifying, analyzing, and communicating practical legal guidance across privacy, litigation, and transactional matters. You will proactively partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives, collaborate across the enterprise, and independently lead matters of significant importance to the organization.

This position requires an experienced attorney with exceptional legal judgment, business acumen, and leadership skills who is comfortable advising senior executives, leading complex legal initiatives, and supervising one attorney.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Advisory: Serve as a trusted legal advisor to executive leadership and business partners, translating complex legal issues into clear, concise, and actionable counsel that enables enterprise business strategies.
• Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks; monitor emerging regulatory changes and industry developments to advise leadership on future implications.
• Commercial Transactions & Execution: Lead sophisticated legal assignments with significant business impact, with independent responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Drive high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across the enterprise, advising senior stakeholders on transactional, litigation, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Legal Operations & Departmental Support: Partner closely with the General Counsel on departmental budgeting, reporting, litigation exposure analysis, and communications with risk managers and external auditors; effectively manage outside counsel to maximize specialized legal value.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education & Bar: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active admission to any state bar (assistance provided to obtain Idaho State Bar admission).
• Experience: 3+ years of post-JD legal experience within a top-tier law firm or a sophisticated corporate legal department.
• Transactional Skill: Substantive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Advisory & Judgment: Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-focused counsel across contractual, regulatory, and corporate matters, with strong legal judgment in mitigating risks and supporting cross-functional decisions.
• Professional Execution: Excellent analytical, organizational, time-management, and communication skills, including the ability to tailor legal advice effectively for executive audiences.
• Location Requirement: Ability to relocate to Idaho Falls, Idaho, and work onsite five days per week (relocation assistance provided).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Academic Credentials: High academic achievement, including Law Review or equivalent legal journal participation.
• Judicial Vetting: A completed federal judicial clerkship.
• Firm Pedigree: Prior associate experience within an Am Law 100 law firm, which is heavily weighted for candidates closer to the three-year minimum.
• Industry Focus: Experience within the dietary supplements, vitamins, or natural health products industries is strongly preferred; experience with technology, e-commerce, digital business models, or data privacy is highly advantageous.
