Assistant General Counsel / Senior Counsel, B2B Commercial

Posted Apr 27 Full TimeOn SiteEnglewood Cliffs, New Jersey The Assistant General Counsel or Sr. Counsel, B2B Commercial, (depending upon experience level) will provide legal support for LG’s Business to Business (B2B) sales and marketing businesses in the United States, concentrating on Information Displays, E-Vehicle Charging Solutions, IT Products, and Medical Products. Position will also assist with robotics initiatives. Position will support the business goals for these B2B operations while working to ensure legal compliance and operations within prudent legal risk levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and support negotiation of various types of complex agreements, including agreements with distributors, applied representatives, services, marketing and product purchasing related to assigned B2B business clients.
- Providing advice on litigation risks to business partners and colleagues in the law department.
- Advise and counsel business leaders on advertising law, FTC compliance, antitrust and other legal compliance matters that may impact marketing and advertising.
- Review and advice on proposed external communications including press releases, external presentations, white papers, remarks, and other marketing materials for assigned B2B businesses.
- Manage outside law firm partners. Budget and track spending and associated forecasting and reporting requirements where required.
- With regulatory compliance team, advise on sales and marketing of regulated products.
- Manage and/or support pre-litigation and litigation disputes, as well as government administrative agency actions, or inquiries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of litigation, discovery, and investigations policies and procedures. Assist with collection and review of documents in connection with litigation or investigations.
- Generally support LG Electronics’ B2B business teams in the U.S. as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- JD degree, plus at least 5-7 years’ relevant experience, primarily in sales and marketing of business products.
- Experience negotiating distribution and other agreements in the B2B commercial channel.
- Experience with FDA-regulated products preferred.
- Strong execution and project management skills and ability to corral stakeholders from across a global organization on cross-functional projects.
- In-house legal experience preferred, particularly in connection with supporting a B2B business.
- Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive time lines.
- Sound risk assessment capabilities in rapidly evolving regulated areas
- Position located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ or Lincolnshire, IL, with travel (20%) required.
