Required Qualifications/Experience/Skills: • 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably including experience in a legal support role. Overview: The Legal Support Officer is a non-attorney role providing essential support to the Client HR Legal team. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of legal processes and a commitment to supporting the team''s objectives.
Responsibilities: • Provide legal support activities related to legal operations, including litigation, discovery, settlements, and negotiations. • Execute, review, process, and track legal documentation and records. Complete varied work requests, often with tight deadlines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Participate in legal programs and projects aimed at process improvement and enhanced legal support solutions. Collaborate with other business functions to support these initiatives. • Gather information from internal and external stakeholders, including interacting with peers and management, to contribute to the development of legal solutions. • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations, internal policy updates, and legal developments. • Provide legal support for Significant Events, maintaining the Significant Event tracker, organizing related files, and compiling quarterly control documentation. • Assist in ensuring team compliance with internal investigation standards and minimum ethics office requirements, including timely updates in the Case Management System (CMS), uploading investigation plans and reports, etc. • Support risk and control initiatives by assisting with the development and maintenance of HR Legal guidelines, ensuring timely invoice approvals, Matter Cost Allocations (MCA), self-identified issue reporting, and Passport updates. • Support the implementation of Global Legal Solutions (GLS) initiatives within Legal Matter Coordination (LMC) teams. • Provide paralegal support for non-litigation matters handled by outside counsel, such as opening matters and managing document exchange. • Maintain and distribute the team''s coverage chart to relevant partners. • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a repository of globally accessible templates, key HR documents, etc., to promote global consistency where possible, considering local laws. • Assist in maintaining a repository of arbitrator feedback. • Compile centralized reports of employment law matters from Passport to provide visibility for HR Legal leadership. • Support cross-Legal communications, including gathering updates for the weekly bulletin and contributing to HR Legal website content.
