Hi, we are Legal.io
We build technology and tools to make finding trusted legal help easy and transparent.
Pieter studied law in Ghent and Stanford and gained experience as a technology lawyer in the Brussels office of the law firm DLA Piper, where he represented businesses, government as well as pro bono clients.
He is deeply passionate about the intersection of law and technology, and combines his legal and programming skills to encode legal access worldwide. Pieter is a regular speaker on the topic of legal tech, and his work has been recognized by organizations such as Forbes (30 under 30, 2015) and Fastcase (Fastcase 50, 2018).
Pieter serves as the lynchpin in the organization, able to communicate and coordinate across product design, engineering and the needs of customers.
Tony is a graduate of Oxford University and Stanford Law School, and gained a broad range of legal experience advising the technology, communications and media industries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
Tony shares with Pieter, and the Legal.io team, a clear understanding of how the legal services market operates and a vision for how it can be disrupted, for the better, with user-centered design and the latest technologies.
Tony’s best memories as a lawyer come from pro bono work advising the social enterprise arm of Barnardo's, a UK children's charity, from its formation through to the development of several social ventures.
Daniel is responsible for engineering and related matters and has been working on computers since the Apple IIe.
