Corporate Counsel
Reports to: President

Our Corporate Counsel will lead most company legal responsibilities, including overall legal strategy, drafting, and reviewing contracts, employment law, real estate, regulatory compliance, corporate entity management, managing agreements with partners and third parties, and all other legal needs. The Corporate Counsel must effectively balance risk-mitigation with business needs and practicality, have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have unwavering integrity.

What You Will Do
  • Advise the President and ownership and execute on legal strategy on behalf of the company.
  • Develop form contracts for common company transactions, such as leases, construction, purchase terms, and service agreements.
  • Draft, review, and support in enforcing contracts with partners.
  • Support in compliance with various state and federal laws.
  • Determine how best to and then realize the integration of legal workflow streams into company operations.
  • Manage relationships and the work of outside counsel, as needed.
  • Support the Executive Team in strategic decisions as they relate to legal risks.
  • Maintain and manage corporate records and contracts.
  • Support and advise Human Resources on employment law, compliance, company policy, benefits, and provider negotiations.
  • Act as the company representative in any legal matters.
  • Build the in-house legal team as needed, currently has one direct report.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
  • 4-5+ years of experience as an in-house attorney.
  • Real estate experience required.
  • Experience in leading and negotiating commercial transactions required.
  • Human Resources and Compliance experience preferred.
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented individual.
  • Creative problem solver who can provide solutions and follow through.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining the ability to take on additional tasks in short notice.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with people across various teams.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Membership in U.S. state bar where position will be located (Idaho) or the ability to obtain House Counsel Status within one year.
  • Broad, direct experience with a variety of legal matters especially strategic business agreements and commercial contract negotiation.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work and travel to other locations.
  • Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.
Education: Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA Accredited law school.
