Our Corporate HQ office in Plymouth, MN is looking for a Corporate Counsel. The Corporate Counsel provides both tactical and strategic legal support to achieve effective risk management and to enable Wealth Enhancement Group s (WEG) growth.

Key Functions:

Delivering strong commercial agreements to support WEG operations

  • Work cooperatively with business partners to negotiate strong agreements in support of all WEG functions, including vendor agreements, technology service agreements, real estate leases, nondisclosure agreements and varied agreements with financial service partner firms.
  • Support development and oversight of vendor contract management system and related policies & procedures.
  • Advise business partners in management of vendor relationships, including integrating vendors secured through business acquisitions, managing vendor performance and conflict resolution.

Constantly improving WEG s management of key employment law issues

  • Partner with Human Resources to draft employment agreements, including restrictive covenants.
  • Provide strategic advice and tactical support in developing and refining key processes for managing employment-related risks in fast growth environment.
  • Serve as a key resource to WEG s Human Resources team on compliance initiatives.

Enabling Legal function to effectively support corporate entity administration

  • Provide general corporate legal support, including legal entity maintenance, corporate record drafting and review, equity administration and corporate finance initiatives.
  • Assist Corporate Secretary in developing processes and procedures to efficiently comply with legal entity administration in new states entered through acquisitions.

Creating greater leverage for Legal team s support of acquisition projects

  • Support General Counsel in due diligence review of acquisition opportunities.
  • Partner with acquisition integration teams to enable successful integration of acquired businesses.

Education/Skill Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from accredited institution
  • 3-7 years experience as a general commercial transaction attorney
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and adaptable
  • Must have experience with employment agreements, including restrictive covenants.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
