D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Attorney for their Legal Department. The right candidate will conduct civil lawsuits, draw up legal documents, advise clients as to legal rights, and practice other phases of law by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and improve various transactional forms utilized in the Company’s operations.
  • Evaluate risk associated with contract modifications and negotiate contract documents proposed by third parties
  • Perform legal search
  • Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for businesses
  • Manages external counsel and confers with colleagues with specialty in area of lawsuit to establish and verify basis for operational decisions.
  • Advises corporate clients concerning transactions of business.
  • Assist with the resolution of issues between the company and third parties including, when necessary, the management of litigation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises two or more employees in the Legal Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

  • Doctoral degree (Ph. D.) or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed Attorney
