Planet Home Lending, LLC (“Planet”) is one of the nation’s fastest growing mortgage lenders and servicers. Planet is seeking an attorney to join its in-house legal team to provide dedicated support to its residential mortgage lending operations. Ideal candidates will have at least 5+ years of mortgage origination legal experience, including a working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting residential mortgage originations, such as the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Loan Originator Compensation, the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act, and the Homeowners Protection Act. In addition, familiarity with mortgage investor/guarantor requirements, including Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidance and the HUD Handbook, is preferred. Duties related to this position include, among other things, advising senior business line personnel on origination related regulatory matters, product development, marketing, creating and maintaining origination related policies and procedures, and reviewing and revising origination related contracts.
