RSG Group USA Inc. is seeking a Litigation & Corporate Paralegal to join the RSG Group legal team. This position will report to the Vice President and General Counsel and will have broad responsibility for providing litigation support and general corporate/operational support for other RSG Group brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Litigation Support
    • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
    • Assist in investigating and drafting responses to pre-litigation demands, consumer complaints, and agency inquiries
    • Read, interpret and analyze statutes, regulations and procedures
    • Assist in drafting legal correspondence and notices
    • Review, analyze and summarize legal documents such as pleadings and orders
    • Receive and respond to subpoenas, including gathering and reviewing documents
    • Handle and manage appropriate calendaring of scheduling order and other deadlines
    • Administrative tasks associated with paralegal work (filing, organizing case files, mailing)
    • Track and log legal invoices and expenditures
  • Corporate and Operational Support
    • Offer broad paralegal support for all company departments
    • Intake and file company documents and contracts including organization and maintenance of contract database
    • Assist in drafting legal correspondence and contracts
    • Prepare, submit, track, and renew registrations, bonds, licenses and permits for company gyms nationwide, including utilization of software database
    • Review and analyze statutes and regulations governing licenses and permits
    • Communicates with State and municipal agencies regarding requirements for compliance and provision of documentation
    • Review and analyze contracts for key provisions such as notice and termination provisions
    • Filing, document revisions, correspondence and other clerical functions
    • Manage softcopy and hardcopy filing and retention

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal associates degree or equivalent certification
  • 3+ years of litigation experience with top law firm or in-house legal department
  • Superb writer with ability to effectively and persuasively communicate to business partners
  • Impeccable attention to detail and excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills and strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Initiative to problem solve and expand knowledge and areas of expertise with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities with excellent follow up
  • Strong fact-finding, negotiating and research skills
  • Familiarity with corporate entity formalities
