We're working with an exciting consumer fintech company to place a regulatory and compliance counsel for a 6-month contract. This role is on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina.

What you’ll do:

• Draft agreements
• Review issues related to compliance
• Assist vendors and other business units with compliance/regulatory issues

What we expect:

• JD and excellent academic credentials
• Member of at least one state bar association
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including advising on consumer protection, consumer finance, banking, and securities laws, such as FCRA, TILA, TISA, ECOA, UDAP, GLBA, EFTA, Reg D, and Reg E
• Experience with consumer disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries
• Familiarity with state licensing requirements, such as mortgage broker, loan broker, and insurance broker licensing
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage projects
• Intellectual creativity and problem-solving skills that involve taking smart legal risks
• Knowledge of consumer services and current trends in the financial technology industry, including data innovation trends

Logistics:

• Location: Charlotte, NC - but remote during COVID
• Duration: 6 months
• Start: October 11, 2021
• Pay: $75 - $100 / hr
