About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Paralegal to join Uber's Delivery legal team as we help shape and guide Uber's many efforts to affordably, reliably, and safely deliver all of life's exciting and outstanding items.

The Delivery Product team offers key strategic guidance to Uber's numerous Delivery lines of business, and takes on critical challenges and issues of first impression. The Senior Paralegal will be a key player in the development of systems and processes to scale legal support for the Delivery business, including support for a wide array legal review tracking, contract management and data and legal knowledge management, and will work with teams such as Legal Operations and the wider paralegal community to do so. This role also engages in direct work with clients covering such matters as contract negotiation, marketing and/or product development reviews.

This position is part of the Uber legal team and can be located in San Francisco, California, Washington DC, or Dallas Texas.

About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional senior paralegal to join our Delivery legal team, which supports the business, operations and product teams responsible for the technology that powers millions of Uber Eats and other item deliveries around the world every day.

What You'll Do

  • Work with a highly collaborative team, taking the lead on project management and/or contract management processes, including working to scale existing processes that handle contractual relationships through their life cycle, manage the flow of consumer affairs responses, and/or supervise the review of new products. You will also work with partners across the Uber Delivery business (Uber Eats, Postmates and Cornershop) as well as other Uber legal teams.
  • Coordinate all aspects of contract or product administration, such as basic review, drafting and negotiation, managing approval and signature processes, distribution and archiving, and raising critical issues.
  • Establish legal tools, playbooks and policies. Help build and update standards and practices for legal review and approvals. Be an advocate for the adoption of new processes for the team, and across clients and other legal teams.
  • Manage and lead special projects.
  • Directly collaborate with some our highest priority partners -- including government officials, customers, partners, and others within Uber.
  • Identify gaps in processes and build scalable solutions to support an ever-growing business team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of paralegal or contracts administration experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management, paralegal or contracts administration experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
  • Be a contracts pro. You have the experience and confidence to review or help coordinate on a broad variety of agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, and website terms and conditions. You spot issues, are not afraid to ask questions and possess the judgement to escalate issues to others on the legal team when vital.
  • Technical Savvy. Can create/use Word documents, Excel templates, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms, and other project management tools and e-signing tools. Familiarity with contract management systems like SpringCM or DocuSign CLM a plus.
  • You know how to communicate clearly whether writing or speaking.
  • Motivated. You understand the impact of a highly-functioning team and you embrace challenges and enjoy solving problems.
  • A utility player. You're willing to help out wherever needed.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated. You have outstanding organizational skills, high integrity and you follow-through on tasks.
  • B.A./B.S. preferred
