Job Summary
This position is accountable for the delivery of legal advice and representation to all divisions of the company, including affiliate or subsidiary corporations, with a primary focus of interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations applicable to health insurers and health insurance-related products and services. The position will involve extensive contact with state and federal regulators, senior management, and representatives of the business units and corporate functions across the company.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree required.

Juris Doctorate Degree required from a fully-accredited law school

Admitted and in good standing to practice law in Arkansas, and before Arkansas State and Federal courts.

Minimum five (5) years’ full-time, active legal practice and experience, which may include experience in a law firm or solo practice, in-house legal department, or practice within a federal or state agency with regulatory authority over health insurers and health insurance-related products and services.

Possesses basic typing and computer skills sufficient to perform data processing, drafting and document production activities on a self-generated basis. Administrative assistance provided for excessive volume demands or advanced word or data processing demands

Background and knowledge of the Arkansas Insurance Code, Insurance Department Regulations, federal standards and regulations under the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, and HIPAA, and front-line experience with formal and informal federal and state regulatory inquiries, audits, hearings and investigations strongly preferred.
