Legal.io is working with an entertainment company seeking a full-time employment counsel for a 3 month contract.

What You’ll Do:

  • Liaise directly with outside employment, benefits and immigration counsel to advise in-house clients on a variety of issues;
  • Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counseling on a range of employment issues, including: hiring, performance management, employee relations, terminations, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation and benefits;
  • Develop, draft and implement a variety of workplace policies, employee training and employment-related templates in collaboration with Human Resources and other functions as appropriate;
  • Draft a high volume of employment agreements;
  • Report directly to the Chief Ethics & Legal Compliance Officer;
  • Investigate and respond to federal and state administrative complaints (including EEOC charges);
  • Collaborate with local counsel to advise Human Resources, Tax and various production teams on international employment issues;
  • Actively monitor employment law changes, to ensure policies and practices are compliant; and,
  • Respond to various employment-related project requests as needed.

Who you are:

  • Between 2-3 years of employment law experience
  • A specialist in CA employment law
  • Active and in good standing with the state bar association

Role Details:

  • Anticipated Start Date: Immediately
  • Location: Remote (company is based in Santa Monica, CA)
  • 3 month contract, full time (40 hours per week)
