Crunchbase is seeking a highly-motivated attorney to join our growing Legal function. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer as a member of the Finance-Operations team, this attorney will work closely with Crunchbase’s Corporate Counsel and cross-functional groups—including Sales and Business Development—focusing primarily on reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, but also assisting with compliance matters and supporting the continuous improvement of Crunchbase’s legal processes.

What You'll Do:

• Advise internal clients regarding legal issues, including identifying, managing, and communicating risks and opportunities in commercial transactions
• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and amendments, including enterprise customer contracts (software agreements and internal and external data licensing agreements), NDAs, DPAs, partnership agreements, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, and reseller agreements
• Respond to information security and data collection questionnaires
• Review product requirement documents and advise on product-related legal issues
• Advise the business on privacy, intellectual property, information security, employment, and compliance issues
• Draft and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal standard methodologies
• Maintain and improve Crunchbase’s contract lifecycle management tools

What We're Looking For:

• Law degree with excellent academic performance
• License to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction
• Minimum 2 years of relevant and recent legal practice with a focus on commercial contracts
• Strong business acumen and project management skills
• Outstanding business negotiation skills and effective client counseling skills
• Collaborates well with both Legal (in-house and outside counsel) and business team members
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) (or similar relevant certification) and experience working with Ironclad are not required, but a bonus
