What you will be doing

As of August 24, 2021, AmerisourceBergen requires all U.S. team members to be fully vaccinated and show proof of completed vaccine status at time of hire. Under general direction of the General Counsel, or other managing attorney within the Legal Department, the Legal Specialist II performs a variety of legal services and project management services on corporate, contract, commercial, litigation and intellectual matters that are handled by the Legal Department. The Legal Specialist II must have sufficient experience and ability to function as an independent professional.

  • In the Contract and Commercial area, the duties and responsibilities of the Legal Specialist I may include, without limitation, the following:

  • Collaborate with numerous internal departments, including sales, customer experience, business development, finance, credit, and risk management.

  • Generating initial contracts from Legal Department forms for business clients and communications with the business clients about the same

  • Providing project management assistance in connection with commercial contracting process

  • Preparing standard contract revisions

  • Maintaining correspondence and documentation related to contracts

  • Troubleshooting contract-related issues

  • Assisting with Requests for Proposal (RFPs) as necessary

  • Promote efficiency within the lifecycle contracting process.

 

What your background should look like 

  • Requires good research experience, writing, communication and computer skills; normally requires a minimum of five (5) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related experience
  • Experience in a large law firm or the legal department or contract administration group of a public company is desirable
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and legal procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent research skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong judgment and ability to resolve issues effectively
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
