We’re looking for a Brand Protection Specialist who is excited about helping maintain Wish’s strict policy against Intellectual Property (“IP”) violations. This role requires providing support to the Brand Protection team by reviewing IP documentation, processing IP infringement claims, developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.. You will be responsible for reviewing product listings suspected of IP infringement, reviewing branded material, verifying IP registrations, and perform any other duties as assigned.  

What you'll do

• Review and monitor product listings from merchants on our global marketplace to help ensure the listings meet policy and company standards.

• Review large data sets of product listings and merchant accounts to locate product listings suspected of IP infringement and take appropriate action per Wish’s policies. 

• Review Intellectual Property complaints and perform in-depth investigations for escalated matters. 

• Review IP documents (such as copyright, patent, or  trademark registrations) and verify its authenticity through the appropriate IP agency such as US Copyright office, USPTO, EUIPO, and other jurisdictions. 

• Review disputes from merchants whose product listings were removed due to Intellectual Property violations.

• Review branded products, authorization documentation, and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with brands owners and/or it’s representatives.

• Monitor and analyze the team’s objectives and goals; suggest recommendations to increase efficiency.

• Take part in weekly connects to review updates, propose changes and identify potential gaps or risks/issues.

• Work independently, effectively prioritize and manage your time.

• Communicate effectively with internal leadership to identify challenges and propose solutions and areas for improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• 2+ year of intellectual property and/or brand protection experience

• Knowledge of intellectual property rights and protections 

• Knowledge of retrieving information from local and foreign intellectual property agencies. 

• Proficiency in spreadsheets and presentation creation tools

• Must be able to quickly learn internal tools and dashboards

• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

• Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks

• Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives

• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Excellent writing, editing, and administrative skills

• Creative, analytical and passionate about our company’s mission

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in eCommerce

• Experience working in a startup

• Ability to read Simplified Chinese and/or Mandarin
