As a claim adjuster of casualty litigation, you’ll manage complex, high-exposure commercial claim investigations. In this role, claims will involve high complexity coverage interpretation, liability investigation, multiple vehicles, competing claims, property, pedestrians, uninsured or underinsured, potential extra-contractual, litigation or significant injuries.
This is a remote position with occasional travel to an office for a meeting and/or training. If you are interested, you’ll also have the option to work a hybrid or full-time office schedule depending on your location.
Duties and responsibilities
- Direction over counsel through litigation process
- Direct experts in other disciplines (scene reconstruction, civil engineering, forensics, biomechanics, etc.)
- Conduct negotiations including mediations, arbitrations and trials
- Use state regulatory and statutory requirements knowledge for a multi-state region
- Evaluate claims with a focus on mitigation of risk
- Present at roundtables; provide recommendations to senior decision-makers for settlement and reserving on the highest complexity files
- Travel may be required
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and a minimum of five years property & casualty injury insurance experience, at least six months of which must have been in attorney represented and litigated claims handling
- In lieu of degree, a minimum of seven years of property and casualty injury insurance experience, at least six months of which must have been in attorney represented and litigated claims handling
Preferred skills
- Attorney repped bodily injury experience
- Experience identifying case risks and issues
- Sound understanding of the injury litigation process
- Knowledge of case law and regulatory environments for multiple states
- Commercial auto claims handling experience
- Able to obtain and maintain state-specific license(s) including compliance with continuing education
Compensation
- $88,000 - $100,000/year
- Gainshare bonus up to 24% of eligible earnings based on company performance
