We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President Assistant General Counsel to provide oversight, direction, and assistance on a broad range of complex legal issues related to corporate legal matters, including without limitation, commercial agreements, compliance related matters, including organizational compliance in international markets, risk management, advice and counseling and legal research.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the commercial function for a specific business group of the company and its subsidiaries, including negotiating, drafting, reviewing, summarizing and researching a wide variety of agreements, including but not limited to leases, licenses, service agreements and orders, vendor, broker, and other general commercial contracts both domestically and internationally;
  • Provides compliance advice, audit and oversight to business leaders and specialist functions from legal and risk management perspective advice, including through:
    • strategically managing outside counsel in their representation of the organization;
    • analyzing and assisting with maintaining forms and agreement templates up-to-date with respect to applicable laws and best practices; developing, reviewing or implementing company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs; and
    • staying current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies; and
  • Accountable for the supervision, training and development of direct reports, including conducting performance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic achievement and a member of a state bar and currently in good standing
  • 8+ Years of experience in Practicing Attorney with experience within a law firm and in-house experience
  • Experience handling international matters within the APAC, EMEA and LATAM regions preferred
  • Experience with compliance functions, compliance audits and training preferred as well
  • Ability to ensure high levels of service & quality are maintained
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with management

 The salary range for this role is $180,000-$225,000
