Summary of Position

This position performs a variety of activities, including drafting, negotiating and administering agreements, leases and other legal documents; providing general legal advice to employees and management representatives; advising on compliance with applicable laws and regulations; engaging in the development and administration of policies and procedures; researching legal precedent and investigating facts; and assisting in the day-to-day management of the Legal Department. A successful candidate will possess strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex legal principles into practical and effective business solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Proactively engage with the business to ensure appropriate drafting, review and negotiating of customer and vendor contracts, data protection agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other contracts to effectively manage risk to the enterprise.
  • Develop an understanding and expertise in corporate travel and related laws and regulations, including both foreign and domestic data privacy laws, with ability to identify risks, conduct research and develop operational process recommendations and contractual safeguards to mitigate those risks.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to the business; develop and present recommendations to representatives of the business and assist with implementation of approved solutions, as necessary.
  • Engage in other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and customary travel is not required as part of this job but may be required on occasion.

Education and Experience

  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school and a license to practice law in one or more States is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of corporate law experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of legal principles and practices and the methods of legal research.
  • Ability to negotiate with third parties.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate the practical consequences of legal strategies.
