The Manager Corporate Investigations conducts and supervises investigations into allegations of non-compliance across the enterprise, including close collaboration with partners and stakeholders and timely, clear recording of case data into case management system. Works directly with business leaders to assist in establishing processes and procedures to prevent misconduct, fraud, and aid in loss prevention, including development and delivery of training. Contributes to continuous improvement through feedback, implementation of best practices and teamwork.

This position has been segmented as Hybrid meaning there is a combination of onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts internal investigations of alleged non-compliance or employee misconduct across the enterprise, with an emphasis on employee relations matters, including allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, disrespectful behavior, and workplace violence.
  • Partners with Human Resources, Legal and senior functional leaders and makes recommendations regarding personnel action or other remediation/mitigation measures based on investigative findings.
  • Documents investigative findings in a thoughtful and objective manner, supported by sufficient and relevant facts that are reproducible and verifiable.
  • Assists functional leaders with the development of processes and procedures designed to mitigate future occurrences of non-compliance or misconduct.
  • Participates in training sessions for Human Resources on best practices for conducting internal investigations.
  • Participates in training and orientation of new hires across a variety of functions who participate in investigations and use the Check-in Line as a case management tool.
  • Partners with Sr. Manager, Corporate Investigations to identify and monitor for compliance trends across the organization that warrant escalation and further review.
  • Supports enhancements to the Check-In Line system as requested by team leaders.
  • Remains aware of and conversant in changing regulatory requirements and compliance industry best practices.
  • Supports other compliance related projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Seeks out and embraces opportunities or improve investigatory processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Internal: Compliance, HR, Legal, Functional Leaders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Corporate Investigations, Compliance, Legal, Audit or Human Resources.
  • Experience working in a large, multi-facility organization with organized labor is a plus.
  • Prior experience conducting employee interviews as part of an or internal investigation or similar process is also required.
  • Exercises good judgment.
  • Possesses problem solving capabilities, attention to detail and strong analytical skills in order to clearly and succinctly synthesize data elements and identify trends and outliers across multiple markets.
  • The ability to stay calm, focused and work successfully in a fast-paced, lean environment under time constraints and in sensitive situations.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • General working knowledge of legal and employment issues that directly impact the manner in which investigations may be conducted.
  • Balanced self-confidence and personal humility.  A proactive, energetic and enthusiastic approach to all tasks, great or small, and a finely developed sense of humor.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field is required.

Certifications/Training:

  • Additional training or professional designations in the areas of law enforcement, internal investigations, auditing, employee relations or compliance preferred (e.g., CCEP, CPA, CFE, PHR).
