The Dallas office of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP is looking for an associate attorney with 2 to 7 years' civil litigation experience to join the Coverage and Insurance Litigation section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, and excellent advocacy and writing skills. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions in federal courts, and attending mediations is preferred and previous experience handling complex coverage and/or first party commercial property damage cases is strongly preferred. Valid Texas BAR license required.

The Coverage and Insurance Litigation section at Thompson Coe focuses on defending insurance companies in bad faith, breach of contract, indemnity, commercial property damage, and complex coverage lawsuits and declaratory actions. The complex coverage disputes and lawsuits we handle arise from natural catastrophes, business interruption, construction defects, product defects and failures, and loss from fire and theft. The associate attorney in this position will assist in handling the day-to-day aspects of insurance coverage and litigation cases, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, legal research and writing, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner.
