Our global legal team provides key support for all of TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. We are looking for an experienced product attorney to work closely with internal stakeholders to conduct solid analysis, provide pragmatic and strategic advice. This position provides candidates with a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team, work on cutting-edge issues in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, collaborate with colleagues in business, engineering, compliance, security, and policy teams on patent issues critical to protecting TikTok's efforts on products and innovations, and execute and advance the patent strategy . Candidates must be highly collaborative, self-motivated, strategical thinking, and intellectually curious. - Lead global review of new products, product features, and other product-related matters to ensure compliance with social media, privacy and and related legislation and regulations. - Coordinate with regional counsel and various subject matter expert legal groups to consolidate and globalize legal feedback to the product teams - Lead efforts to develop global strategies, standards, and policies for our privacy, minor safety, and related efforts - Collaborate with other legal and product stakeholders to develop creative solutions for novel, complex issues. - Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams (including regional legal, various product organizations, and various subject matter expert legal groups). - Monitor industry trends across social media legislation, privacy, generative AI, data protection, minor safety & protection across markets to identify trends and issues for the company to address.

- Qualified to practice law and in good standing in the United States - 5+ years of practice with experience of advising on laws related to privacy, consumer protection, minor safety, and other regulatory requirements, ideally for a multinational company, advising across multiple markets, and taking into account laws across regions - Ideally some experience counseling on platform liability, intellectual property, and generative AI - Ideally some in-house experience in an international matrixed organization. - Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills - Ability to work independently on many different projects at once in a fast-paced environment - Experience with analyzing products to determine their compliance with applicable laws - Detail oriented and experience coordinating across multiple teams/countries. - Strong sense of problem solving and proactive work ethic - Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while keeping a sense of humor.
