What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for an experienced attorney to join the SEC & ESG Reporting team in Basking Ridge, NJ or New York City, NY.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and reviewing disclosure for Verizon’s SEC filings, including Annual and Quarterly Reports on Forms 10-K and 10-Q, Current Reports on Form 8-K, Proxy Statement and others and ensuring compliance with SEC rules and regulations and NYSE and Nasdaq listing standards.

  • Partnering with subject matter experts across the company to draft and facilitate the publication of Verizon’s strategic ESG reporting, including the annual ESG Report, TCFD Report, CDP response and related disclosures.

  • Managing Verizon’s compliance with existing and emerging global regulatory frameworks, including CSRD, ISSB, and UK TCFD

  • Monitoring SEC rulemaking developments and U.S. Federal and state legislative initiatives for impacts on Verizon and work with Verizon regulatory and policy teams on advocacy.

  • Representing the legal team in Verizon’s ESG Center of Excellence, working collaboratively with members of the sustainability, accounting policy, external reporting, enterprise risk management and internal audit teams on reporting matters.

  • Facilitating communications with investors, employees and other stakeholders regarding the company’s strategy and practices.

  • Creating a strategic plan for the future of Verizon’s regulatory and voluntary reporting in response to the evolving ESG landscape.

This role may be considered as part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

 

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

 

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Admission and good standing in at least one state (if not New Jersey, then eligibility for New Jersey In-House Counsel Limited Licensure).

  • Experience in SEC disclosure at a top law firm.

 

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Writing, editing and oral communication skills, adaptive to and effective for different audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships within an organization.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process a large volume of work in a timely manner with attention to detail.

  • Excellent project management skills.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $165,000.00 and $306,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
