Lee Smart, a civil litigation firm, is proud of our 100-year history as trial lawyers.  We are rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating, and are looking for a quality associate to join our practice. Lee Smart specializes in defending clients in a broad range of civil cases. This includes representing individuals and organizations against allegations involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, construction defects, product liability, business losses, and others. We also defend healthcare providers, attorneys, accountants, architects, and engineers.    We are looking for talented candidates who are interested in excelling as litigation lawyers. A successful applicant must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. Our associates work independently on many different cases, manage demands and understand priorities. Lee Smart offers the opportunity for work in all aspects of civil litigation, including depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. A successful candidate must also have excellent organizational skills, superior attention to detail, and a strong desire to work as part of a cohesive team of trial lawyers. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Basic Life is available to all Lee Smart employees (and their Spouse/Domestic Partner and their Dependents). After 90 days of employment, employees are auto-enrolled in Long Term Disability, and Life - Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance fully paid by the Firm. Auto-enrollment starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment in Lee Smart's 401K, with company match up to 3% after a continuous 12 months of employment. The Firm may pay a monthly bonus based on billable hours. Employees will also receive 3.33 vacation hours per pay period up to ten days during their first two years, and 2.67 hours of paid sick leave per pay period up to eight days, based on a 40-hour work week, plus Lee Smart employees enjoy ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The Firm will provide Supplemental Parental Leave pay for up to 12 weeks to make the employee whole after completing one year of employment.
