The Role

We are looking for a full-time commercial lawyer based in Austin, Texas. You will report to a Director of Legal in the Law Department and will be a member of the legal team supporting AMD’s channel sales and marketing groups. Your primary responsibilities will be to assist sales teams with transactional matters.

The Person

  • You must be licensed to practice law in Texas as an attorney.
  • You will have experience in the practice of law, as an attorney with law firm and/or in-house counsel experience, emphasizing commercial transactions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of contract terms and drafting capabilities
  • Positive attitude and ability to handle multiple tasks to consistently meet deadlines
  • You will be commercially savvy with strong business judgment, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess and deliver advice in a pragmatic manner to various non-lawyer business groups.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Dedicated, organized and able to prioritize and multitask well.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and highly team oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, negotiating, and counseling related to channel sales agreements, product sales and marketing programs, and other customer agreements.
  • Assisting in pre-contract matters, such as negotiation support, coordination with clients, gathering relevant information and agreement terms from stakeholders, and obtaining necessary approvals prior to contract execution
  • Investigating and resolving contractual matters by critical and creative thinking, gathering detailed information and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
  • Providing advice and guidance on contractual rights and obligations and internal policy to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Influencing others through the explanation of facts, policies, and practices
  • Updating various contract templates and documenting playbooks as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Progressive experience as a practicing attorney with relevant in-house experience.
  • Industry specific experience strongly preferred.

Academic Credentials

  • Law degree and good standing with the State Bar of Texas is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
