Compensation Summary:

  • Competitve salary & estimated OTE; commission is a % of the profit from the cases won. The firm typically does not accept cases with a potential value of under $500K-$750K but ideally $1M CASES ARE THE FLOOR!
  • You would be working on approx. 30-40 cases, likely settling 10-12/year. Most of their cases settle prior to trial so the “win” ratio is typically very high.
  • The firm award a 25% bonus of the net attorney fees on any cases the attorney brings in.
  • No business development required.

Join a small boutique firm as a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney in Torrance, CA (at least a few day a week in the office / hybrid) with a team currently consisting of 7 attorneys, soon expanding to 9! Our client advocates for individuals who have sustained serious injuries due to the negligence of corporations, businesses, governmental entities, or individuals with insurance. Their focus spans a variety of injury cases, with a particular emphasis on brain, spine, and catastrophic injuries. Operating as a contingency firm, they eschew billable hours, and depending on experience, offer potential to be a part of their highly lucrative case referral bonus program.

The ideal candidate should be a motivated litigator driven by a strong passion for justice and aiding individuals. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a personal injury litigation and trial practice. You will collaborate with one of California's top trial lawyers and his team, overseeing cases, engaging in litigation, conducting and defending depositions, mediating, and participating in trials.

2-3 years of experience in plaintiff's personal injury litigation. Trial experience is not required.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a caseload ranging from 20 to 40 cases.
  • Formulate comprehensive case strategies and theories for optimal legal representation.
  • Skillfully draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct depositions adeptly, handling various roles such as plaintiff, defendant, and expert depositions.
  • Initiate and participate in settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Serve as second chair in trial proceedings, contributing to the overall success of litigation.
  • Maintain consistent client communication, offering updates on the progress of each case.
  • Provide supervision and direction to Paralegal and other support staff for efficient case management.

Qualifications:

  • Possess 2 or more years of experience in litigation focused on plaintiff personal injury.
  • Hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Maintain an active California bar membership in good standing.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of adeptly managing caseloads and successfully resolving cases for substantial value.
  • Exhibit strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Showcase excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Embrace a client-focused approach, coupled with robust interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
