Position Summary

Sr. Manager, Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for aligning the team with CVS Health imperatives ­­­­­and developing strategies to influence regulations which impact our Medicaid, Exchange, and Commercial products, employer group, health plan, coalition, TPA and Medicaid managed care clients. This Sr. Manager position is a crucial contributor to the Medicaid, Exchange, and Commercial regulatory and operations agenda for the broader PBM business. This position reports directly to the Director of Regulatory Affairs. 

 

This position is responsible for demonstrating a deep understanding of our business and customers’ needs/expectations across the Medicaid, Exchange, and Commercial markets.  This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Thinking strategically by identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Keeping long-term strategic goals, short-term objectives, and budget initiatives in mind; and
  • Adjusting strategies to meet shifting priorities based on anticipated changes in the market
  • Development of client communications that reflect our operational steps related PBM delegated services. 
  • Consultation with clients, consultants, and business partners regarding regulatory recommendations.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of PBM or Health Plan experience required
  • Experience in strategic planning and time management and prioritization skills required, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior internal and external leadership
  • Proven skills in strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex problems and recommend practical solutions  
  • Requires the ability to think strategically about benefit plan design and administration and understand how benefit plan design can impact CVSH’s ability to meet State, Federal and CMS guidelines.
  • Ability to lead and influence others and to effect change across organizational boundaries, particularly with large employers, health plans (PBM clients), regulatory bodies, and trade associations.
  • Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and work cross-functionally to advance priorities, capitalize on new opportunities and drive solutions quickly to meet demanding time frames.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment in analyzing and resolving client issues with little guidance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (be comfortable articulating complex issues to all levels of management)

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Medicaid, Exchange, or Commercial programs preferred
 

Education

Bachelor's Degree Required, Masters Preferred

 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 – $166,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
