Position Summary

As a Paralegal on our Legal team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the legal department's operational efficiency and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will support our legal department in various capacities, with a primary focus on supporting the attorneys and streamlining processes, optimizing workflows, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our legal operations. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for the areas below.

_RESPONSIBILITES

_ Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with attorneys, and various departments within the organization to provide comprehensive legal support and operational guidance on a wide range of legal matters and projects.
  • Assists with intradepartmental problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day legal operations, including matter management, contract administration, and document management systems.
  • Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of various contracts and legal documents.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations.

Legal Research and Documentation:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyze laws, regulations, and precedents to support ongoing cases, transactions, and projects and provide comprehensive summaries and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and maintain legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.

Legal Operations Management:

  • Develop, implement, and refine processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency of legal operations.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to identify and implement tools and technologies that improve workflow and productivity. Experienced in the area of SOP development and process improvement.
  • Promote, manage and deliver the continuous improvement of project activities. and seek opportunities to connect outcomes with other projects/priorities.
  • Perform tasks to support other activities, as needed, which include booking travel, meeting planning and scheduling and handle department expense reporting.

Contract and Data Management Support:

  • Manage legal databases and repositories, ensuring accurate and organized storage of documents.
  • Analyze data to generate reports and insights that contribute to informed decision-making within the legal department.
  • Support the contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts.
  • Maintain contract databases and assist in contract negotiations as needed.

Compliance and Regulatory Support:

  • Assist in ensuring company compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the business and communicate necessary updates to the legal team.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate legal department.
  • Project Management certificate, not required but a plus.

Qualifications, Skills, And Abilities

  • Superior understanding and skills in Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point) including exceptional presentation preparation skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal operations, including matter management, contract administration, and legal technology platforms.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and contract review.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and a firm commitment to quality.
