Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Contracting, this position will primarily support Trend Micro’s Enterprise Sales organization in structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial software and SaaS-related agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement/purchasing in the review of vendor agreements.
  • Engage in projects relating to commercial contracting, including updates and enhancements to operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training new members of the Sales team in both the Sales-Legal relationship and the Contract Lifecycle for negotiated agreements.
  • Interact and develop working relationships with leaders of various Trend Micro operational departments.
  • Knowledge and experience in federal and public sector contracting a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of commercial transactions experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Mid-level experience drafting and negotiating technology agreements, license and service support agreements, and cloud services agreements with enterprise customers.
  • Experience and aptitude working cross-functionally with internal organizations to resolve questions and concerns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; plain English, not legalese.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to address complex issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between legal and business requirements.
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • License to practice in one or more states.
  • Knowledge, use and application of contract lifecycle management software for negotiations.
  • Experience with creating contract playbooks.
  • Compliance/Data Privacy experience.
