Meet the team:

Dexcom’s in-house legal team is looking for an experienced technology transactions attorney to serve as Senior Lead Legal Counsel. Reporting to the Senior Director, Legal Counsel, this role will be a critical part of a dynamic, cross-functional team driving global strategic relationships and corporate development initiatives.

  • Leverage your diverse professional experience building strategic partnerships to draft and negotiate complex strategic partnership development, commercialization and licensing agreements.
  • Understand the evolving landscape for global data privacy regulations and collaborate with our privacy team on data management and privacy matters and their impact on contract negotiations.
  • Drive legal and organizational efforts on M&A, corporate ventures, and other large transactions
  • Use sound business judgment to manage risk while advancing business goals in a competitive environment

 

What makes you successful:

  • Familiarity with medical device research, development, and commercialization processes and relevant global regulatory schemes
  • Significant experience in structuring, advising, and negotiating technology, development, licensing, and strategic partnership agreements 
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex matters in ambiguous or uncertain circumstances, exercise sound judgment, and convey complex ideas to audiences of varying levels of legal and business sophistication, to facilitate making difficult decisions.
  • Highly motivated and independent self-starter; comfortable learning new legal areas and skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience of managing multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Ability to work from Dexcom office in Sorrento Valley at least 2 days per week

Experience and Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree with 10 years of related experience (preferably 5 years at a major law firm and 5 years of in-house experience)
  • Admitted to practice and a member in good standing of state bar in United States
     

Travel Required:

  • 5-15%

 

Flex Workplace: 

Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).

Salary:

$172,400.00 - $287,300.00
