Job Purpose

LP is searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals, and business professionals. As the Paralegal I, Legal Operations Manager and Contract Administrator, you will collaborate closely with other members of the Legal team, as well as internal stakeholders at all levels within the larger organization, supporting a wide range of projects, processes, and tasks. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Deputy General Counsel.

Process And Systems Management

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • In conjunction with attorneys and more senior paralegals, engage in a wide variety of projects and day-to-day tasks related to the critical systems and processes that keep the Legal department functioning.
  • Oversee and manage specific processes utilizing various tools such as DocuSign, Legal Tracker, ContractWorks and other relevant technologies.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating departmental SharePoint sites.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational workflows to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure seamless integration and utilization of legal technology tools, staying abreast of industry best practices

Contract Administration

  • Oversee and manage the execution of all approved contracts and other legal documents through DocuSign.
  • Oversee and manage the storage and retrieval of all executed contracts in ContractWorks including data capture/tagging of relevant meta data.

Budgeting And Expense Management

  • Manage Legal's interaction with Accounts Payable, including the creation and management of purchase orders and corresponding payments through Ariba.
  • Oversee and manage the receipt, processing, and payment of all legal invoices through Legal Tracker with ultimate responsibility for the functionality of the Legal Tracker system.
  • Play a critical role in the annual budgeting process for the Legal department, collaborating with key stakeholders to gather and analyze budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on monthly spend including the development of new reports to facilitate greater clarity into spend and spend trends.

Administrative Support

  • Responsible for the accurate creation and submission of expense reports for Legal department members.
  • Coordinate departmental meetings, including agenda preparation and proactive follow-up on assigned action items.
  • Facilitate and manage travel arrangements for Legal department members, optimizing cost-effectiveness and convenience.
  • Handle incoming mail.

What do I need to be successful?

  • 4+ years of work experience required. Prior experience in a legal operations role preferred. Process management and technology implementation experience appreciated.
  • Familiarity with legal technology tools (DocuSign, Legal Tracker, ContractWorks, etc.). preferred.
  • Familiarity with corporate tools (Ariba, Concur, SharePoint, etc.) preferred.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally, and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of high performance and consistent delivery of superior results.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess good judgement in making decisions and addressing challenges.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Paralegal degree/certificate required.

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
  • Must be within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
  • Intermittent travel may be required.
