Fate Therapeutics is looking for a motivated Manager, Contracts Administration to support the company’s Legal operations team. This position will liaise with other departments like Clinical Development, Finance, HR, and Procurement to manage the full lifecycle of the company’s contracts. The successful candidate will have experience in contracts lifecycle management, a track record building successful cross-functional relationships, and great attention to detail and prioritization skills. This is a full-time, exempt position located at our corporate headquarters in SanDiego, CA. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of the company’s contract management system, Cobblestone, managing the life cycle of all contracts from initial request through execution and filing.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Finance, HR, and Procurement to support the management of clinical vendor contract lifecycles.
  • Manage clinical development contract processing through Fate’s procurement system.
  • Manage clinical development vendor contracts and contract renewal activities.
  • Review contract requests for sufficiency and completeness; prioritize requests taking into consideration department and company priorities; assign contracts to attorneys.
  • Ensure contract records are complete and accurate.
  • Manage contract expirations, terminations, renewals, and amendments.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Finance, and IT to ensure an efficient and streamlined contract review process that accounts for all departments’ needs and priorities.
  • Act as a liaison between internal clients and the legal department for the timely processing of contracts.
  • Guide internal clients on the contract request and review process.
  • Act as first point of contact for all contract-related requests, including copies of contracts, status inquiries and process inquiries. Work closely with attorneys on inquiries as needed.
  • Prepare contracts, amendments, SOWs, work orders and other legal documents using established company templates.
  • Establish confidentiality agreements with vendors.
  • Maintain legal department forms and templates and assists attorneys in updating forms and templates.
  • Participate in the development and ongoing improvement of Legal and Clinical Outsourcing processes and procedures.
  • Format documents for finalization.
  • Analyze and report on legal department metrics.
  • Support company attorneys as needed. 

 

Responsibilities

  • BA/BS degree; paralegal certificate a plus.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with 2+ years contract management experience; clinical contracts experience preferred.
  • Experience with the service provider RFI/RFP and Scope of Work (SOW) process.
  • Experience managing clinical budgets a plus.
  • High degree of adaptability and comfort with uncertainty.
  • Ability to multi-task within and across projects, prioritize and manage timelines effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including internal clients, vendors, collaborators, and clinical sites.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Positive outlook, willingness to learn and contribute, and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred.

 

Working conditions & physical requirements

  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.

 

Compensation

  • The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including level, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location.
  • Fate offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package.
  • The anticipated salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000.
